Pre-Med Academy
Established in 2016, the Pre-Med Academy offers an eight-week, paid summer internship for college students exploring medical careers. Over 250 participants have gained hands-on experience through clinical rotations in physician practices and hospital departments such as surgery, emergency, and rehabilitation at Baptist Health Paducah. The program immerses students in health care environments, helping them envision future careers and providing experiences to strengthen medical school applications. Applications open in February, with a deadline of April 1. The academy collaborates with the Purchase Area Health Education Center and its Letters from Home program.
