Nominations are now open for two upcoming awards – the KHA Health Care Governance Leadership Award and the Carol Walters Volunteer Award!
During the KHA Annual Convention, one recipient is awarded the KHA Health Care Governance Leadership Award. This award is granted to a hospital trustee who has demonstrated dedication in assuring the availability of health care and the viability of their hospital.
To be considered for this award, the nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Current member of a hospital or health care system governing board
- Leadership in hospital governance, understanding the strategic vision of the hospital
- Demonstrated understanding of the ambassadorial role of hospital trustees
- Exceptional service and involvement in local civic organizations
This is a great opportunity to recognize the outstanding leadership of your facility’s hospital trustees. This award will be presented at KHA’s 96th Annual Convention during the Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

The Carol Walters Volunteer Award is intended to give KHA members the opportunity to showcase their projects to the health care volunteer and auxiliary community.
To be considered for this award, the nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Any project that physically, mentally, or spiritually meets the needs of a KHA member facility may be submitted for consideration.
- Volunteer or auxiliary members must play a substantial role in planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining the project.
- The project could be replicated or adapted in another community or organization.
This is a perfect award to recognize the incredible benefits your volunteers bring to your facility. This award will be presented at KHA’s 96th Annual Convention during the Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
