LOUISVILLE, KY – (February 17, 2025) The Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA), an organization representing 128 hospitals across the Commonwealth, last week launched a new advertising campaign aimed at dispelling myths and misconceptions about the 340B drug pricing program. The campaign underscores how savings generated from the program are reinvested into vital health care services, benefiting local communities by funding critical programs, new services, and ensuring quality treatment is available close to home.

The 340B program allows eligible safety-net hospitals, clinics, and contract pharmacies to purchase prescription medications at reduced prices, which results in significant savings at no cost to the taxpayer. These savings are used to directly support programs and services that help improve health care access and enhance the overall quality of care in local communities.

“Our goal with this campaign is to provide clear, transparent information about how the 340B program benefits patients and communities throughout Kentucky,” said Nancy Galvagni, President and CEO of KHA. “Many people don’t realize that these savings help fund critical health initiatives, such as free or low-cost services, wellness programs and free screenings, expanded access to specialty care, and much more. The impact is profound and it’s time to set the record straight.”

The new campaign, launched across multiple media platforms, features information from providers and communities across the Commonwealth that have directly benefited from these vital programs. The message will focus on ways 340B savings are reinvested into patient care.

The campaign will also address common misunderstandings about the program, emphasizing its role in making health care more accessible and affordable, especially for vulnerable populations.

About the Kentucky Hospital Association: KHA was established in 1929. The Association represents hospitals, related health care organizations and integrated health care systems dedicated to sustaining and improving the health status of the citizens of Kentucky. The Association is headquartered in Louisville.
