Rural Health Scholars (RHS)
Rural Health Scholars (RHS) is a four-week summer program hosted by the South Central Area Health Education Center (AHEC) for undergraduate students pursuing pre-professional tracks such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and physical therapy. The program immerses students in rural Kentucky health care through unique experiences that highlight the challenges, advantages, and community resources involved in treating rural populations. Participants receive a stipend for their involvement.
