The ALLIANT scholarship, established in 2018, has transitioned to become a service-learning program in 2023. Scholars have the opportunity to conduct a mentored research paper focused on a health care issue of their choice, with the goal of improving or extending life, or of healing on a community, national or global level. Potential areas for investigation may include: community health, maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality, aging, Alzheimer’s or related dementias, vascular or cardiac disease, renal disease, lung disease, etc.
This program provides a $7,000 scholarship to two underrepresented students of medicine enrolled in an accredited medical program in the following U.S. States: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas.

Dr. Tae-joon Seo Memorial Scholarship ProgramBaptist Health

$500. The purpose of the Dr. Tae-joon Seo Memorial Scholarship Program is intended to support individuals who live in South Eastern Kentucky and are pursuing a career as a radiology technologist. The scholarship is open to students in their final year at high school who have been accepted to a technology school, and to students who are currently enrolled in a technology school and are seeking financial assistance in completing this training. Each awardee is eligible for a $1,000 scholarship towards technology and school tuition. Students must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 in order to maintain their qualification for the scholarship. One new student will be selected each year for the scholarship.
Selection of the scholar will be based primarily upon financial need. Other significant factors include academic performance, integrity of character, and promise shown for future achievement. Scholarship applications are due by April 15th of each year.

This scholarship pays $1,000 directly to the college or university for high school students. It is renewable in the second semester if the recipient earns a 2.5 or higher GPA. The scholarship pays $2,000 directly to the college or university for college students. It is renewable in the second semester if the recipient earns a 3.0 or higher GPA.

The Norton Healthcare Scholars Program is a loan forgiveness program that provides educational assistance to students pursuing or continuing a health care-related degree in a specified area of workforce need. The amount of funding received per calendar year is based on the degree program. This is a highly competitive program, and not all candidates will be accepted.
Those accepted as a Norton Healthcare Scholar sign a contract agreeing to work for Norton Healthcare upon graduation. The length and terms of this loan forgiveness commitment are based on the amount of funding received. During this commitment, the loan is eligible to be forgiven. IRS regulations require these funds to be taxed as they are forgiven. The amount of approved financial assistance is dependent on the program.

T.J. Regional Health will be offering three $2,000 scholarships to high school students who are planning to pursue degrees in the healthcare, or a healthcare-related, business field.
High school seniors who live in the T.J. Regional Health service area and who are graduating in 2024 qualify to apply for a scholarship. Preference will be given to those who are pursuing degrees in healthcare or who have a desire to apply their degree to a healthcare-related field. Degrees can also include non-patient care settings such as marketing, business administration, accounting, computer science, etc.
Application materials must be completed and submitted online at tjregionalhealth.org/scholarship by Monday, March 25, 2024. Winners will be notified by April 15, 2024. Questions regarding the application process can be submitted to scholarships@tjsamson.org.
