AVADE Behavioral Health Training

KHA is partnering with a Joint Commission-accredited workplace violence prevention program, AVADE®, to offer the Behavioral Health Workplace Safety Instructor Training. Personal Safety Training is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. AVADE® Behavioral Health Workplace Safety Instructor Training Course = 24 ANCC Contact Hours.

DAY ONE: AVADE® Level 1 training covers the basics of identifying, understanding, and responding to behavioral health situations to educate, prevent, and manage crisis effectively.
DAY TWO: The first half of the day is dedicated to refining teaching techniques for AVADE® Level 1, aimed at improving learning outcomes and information retention. The second half of the day focuses on AVADE® Level II self-defense tactics/techniques tailored to the behavioral health setting.
DAY THREE: Participants will review AVADE® Level II self-defense tactics and then proceed to learn AVADE®
Level III defensive control tactics.
